Alma M. Meyer

Alma Marie Meyer, 97, of Malinta, Ohio died Monday morning, November 18, 2019 with her family by her side at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green, Ohio.
She was born November 15, 1922 in Richfield Township, Henry County, Ohio to the late August and Sophie (Meier) Sunderman. On November 24, 1940 she married Leonhard R. Meyer and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1972.
Alma was a lifetime homemaker and helped out on the farm. After her husband died, she always kept a close eye on her family farm, making sure the next generation was keeping things up to her standards. Over the years, they raised tomatoes, pickles and operated a chicken farm with upwards to 9000 chickens. She would find time to enjoy her flower and vegetable gardens, do some quilting and listen to polka music by Marv Herzog or gospel music by Elvis Presley. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler.
Family was important to her and she will be cherished and remembered by them all. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Donna) Meyer, Napoleon, Ohio; daughter, Sharon Matzinger, Malinta, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Tara Meyer; Derek (Amy) Meyer; Craig (Laurie) Meyer; Jamie (Nicole) Matzinger; 5 great grandchildren, Tyler Meyer (Kaylee Kovacs); Carter Meyer; Erica Meyer; Colton Matzinger; Cheyenna Matzinger; 1 great great grandson, Mason Meyer; and her faithful pet dog, Lyndsey.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Meyer; sister, Emma Ziegler and brothers, Ernest, Alvin, Arthur and Eddie Sunderman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler with Rev. James Wenger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler and from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
The family suggests memorials to St. John Lutheran Church or Bridge Hospice.
