Jacqueline (Smith) Chatel

Jacqueline Marie (Smith) Chatel, 63, of Leipsic, Ohio and formerly of Deshler, Ohio passed away Thursday evening, January 31, 2019 at the Bluffton Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born February 27, 1955 in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Robert and Marilyn (Rader) Smith.
She was previously married to Herbert Christman and they had three daughters, Erin Tijerina of Leipsic, Ohio; Lauren Hernandez, who passed away on April 6, 2017; and Shannon Christman of Lexington, Kentucky. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Devin (Breanna) Tijerina; Nathan Tijerina; Taylor (Eric) Guerra; Ava Tijerina; Victoria Hernandez; Gage Hernandez; Madilyn Hernandez; and Alexis Christman; 8 great grandchildren; her sister, Julie (Rick) Hoegg of Crestview, Florida; half sister, Shelly (Rich) Mercer of Findlay, Ohio and half brother, Richard Smith, Lima, Ohio.
Jackie was a 1973 graduate of Patrick Henry High School. She owned and operated Double D Enterprises in Aurora, Kentucky; successfully selling wholesale jewelry to jewerly stores and auction houses throughout the country. She was hard working; kind, selfless, humble and stoic. She especially loved her family and was an exceptional daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Chaplain Tomas Pistora officiating. Burial will be private for the family at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
