Dorothy "Jean" Rutter
August 22, 1930 - September 7, 2018
Dorothy "Jean" Rutter, 88, of Deshler, Ohio passed away Friday afternoon, September 7, 2018 at Oak Grove Healthcare Center, Deshler.
She was born on August 22, 1930 in Ottawa, Ohio to the late George and Bessie (Dray) White. On March 27, 1954 she married Paul "Pork" Rutter and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1992.
Jean retired from the former Claude Sintz, Inc. factory in Deshler after working for over 20 years. She was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church, Deshler; the Order of Eastern Star Lodge #68, Deshler; the Toledo WBA and an avid golfer. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by 8 children, Dennis Miles (Linda) Rutter, Deshler; Paula Baker, Hamler, Ohio; Dale Rutter, Panama City, Florida; Karl Rutter, Panama City, Florida; Teresa Gerschutz, Tucson, Arizona; Gary Rutter, Deshler; Roger Rutter, Deshler; Dean (Bertha) Rutter, Deshler; 16 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren and 3 "on the way"; brother, Ray (Audrey) White, Flowery Branch, Georgia; sisters, Edith (Jim) Brooks, Leipsic, Ohio and Shirley (Larry) King, Cottonwood, Arizona.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Francis Marriott and 2 sons-in-law, Karl Gerschutz and Stephen Baker.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at New Beginnings United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Walter officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at the New Beginnings United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler.
The family suggests memorials to New Beginnings United Methodist Church, Henry County Hospice or Donor's Choice.
