Alonso Magallanes Obituary

Alonso A. Magallanes
July 24, 2001 - October 1, 2022

Alonso Adolfo Magallanes, 21, of Deshler, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf, Ohio.
He was born on July 24, 2001 in Bluffton, Ohio to Francisco Magallanes and Connie Rivas.
Alonso was a 2020 graduate of Patrick Henry High School and attended the 4-County Vocational School.  After high school he worked at Hearthside in McComb, Ohio.  He was raised catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler.
As a young boy, Alonso could easily be found around Deshler.  He generally always had a ball or bat with him and he was looking to practice or play at the local parks.  This led him to love sports and he participated in football, basketball and baseball during his school days.  He spent time at the community swimming pool and had a passion for fishing.  Then in 2015, he was diagnosed with kidney disease and later on with an enlarged heart.  Despite his diagnosis, Alonso remained as active as he could.  He would continue to play as much as he could, whether it was at the Leipsic Community Center or fishing at the reservoirs, he kept himself moving.  His family will miss him deeply, but remember him for his love of his family, mexican dinners and his ability to keep everyone happy with his jokes and sense of humor.
Alonso is survived by his parents, Francisco Magallanes and Connie Rivas; his girlfriend, Sanony Aguilar and his expected son, "on the way"; three brothers, Louis Ochoa; Victor Magallanes; Julian Magallanes; two sisters, Felicia Magallanes; Adriana Magallanes; paternal grandmother, Trinadad Garcia; maternal grandmother, Frances Flores and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Francisco Magallanes and Savas Rivas, Sr.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler with Fr. Art Niewiadomski officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with a Rosary Service at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home.
