Carol S. Pettry
June 26, 1939 - November 21, 2020
Carol Sue Pettry, 81, of Findlay, Ohio, passed away Saturday evening, November 21, 2020, at Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore.
She was born June 26, 1939 in Custar, Ohio. Her father, Forest Moses, passed away when she was very young and her mother, Delores (Thatcher) Moses, remarried Harry Richard.
On June 1, 1957, she married Daniel Jackson, and they were later divorced. In May of 1971, she married Delbert Pettry, and he preceded her in death in 2005.
Carol graduated from Deshler High School and was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked her entire career with the former Oak Grove Manor of Deshler, Ohio, spending countless hours caring for the residents.
Carol was of Catholic faith and will be remembered for her avid reading, crocheting and her passion for bingo and euchre. At home, she would tend to her beautiful flower gardens, in particular her roses. She always had a love for animals, whether it was the hummingbirds in her gardens, the parakeets in the house or the countless dachshunds she raised over the years.
When her late husband Delbert retired in the mid '90's, they enjoyed many wonderful years in Largo, Florida. Here she was the bookkeeper of her retirement community and together they were heavily involved in all the activities.
Above all her passion was her family. She was a loving mother and adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Tammy (Jerry) Thomas; Scott Jackson; Michele (Terry) Rader; Danita Holmes; two stepchildren, Delbert Pettry, Jr.; Teresa Cranston; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and brother, Charles (Elaine) Moses.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Jackson; son-in-law, Bobby Holmes; mother, Delores Richard; and stepfather, Harry Richard.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, with Pastor James Erven officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. prior to the services. Anyone attending will be required to wear a mask and social distancing guidelines will be expected.
