Dalton Howard Christman, 93, of Deshler, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020.
He was born on July 9, 1927 in Deshler to the late Silas "Bub" Christman and Alma (Meyer) Christman. On August 17, 1947 he married Reva (McMaster) Christman and she preceded him in death on April 22, 2016. They shared over 68 years of marriage together and it is only fitting they were reunited in death on what would have been their 73rd anniversary.
Dalton was a Deshler High School graduate and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He would come home and spend a lifetime working alongside his brothers. The family operated Christman Bros. Builders of Deshler and the Leipsic Lumber Company. He was a highly skilled builder who left his touch on many homes and projects in the surrounding communities.
He was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church and the Deshler Lions Club. In his spare time you could often find him at the former Shady Acres Golf Club in McComb, Ohio where he was enjoying friendships and most likely wagering on pars and birdies. He will be remembered for his faithful love to his wife and his unconditional love and care for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Gerry (Judy) Christman, Naples, Florida; Mark (Dawn) Christman, Perrysburg, Ohio; Jan (Larry) Barnes, Naples, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Betty (Dr. John) Eubel, Fairborn, Ohio and brother, William (Carol) Christman, Deshler.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward Christman; Herbert "Herb" Christman; Wayne "Tag" Christman and Clayton Christman.
Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
