DAVID A. RETTIG
NOVEMBER 28, 1969 – AUGUST 19, 2020
David Arthur Rettig, 50, of Delta, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio.
He was born on November 28, 1969 in Defiance, Ohio to Donald and Nancy (Fintel) Rettig. On December 19, 2014 he married Fay (Young) Rettig.
David worked for Parker Tire Service, Delta and A2Z 24 Hour Road Service, West Unity, Ohio. He always enjoyed working on vehicles and his knowledge of mechanics allowed him to solve many problems. His family will remember him as a “mechanical genius”.
He was a baptized and confirmed member of St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Fay Rettig; his mother, Nancy Hill; children, Christopher Preteroti; Carolynne (Branden) Wygant; Catlin Sprau; Gabreylla Kosier-Rettig; Makenna Sprau; granddaughter, Miyah Wygant; step children, Amber (Frank) Torres; Travis Lane; Penny Lane; 3 step grandchildren, Journey LeMaster; Karliah Torres; Sabrina Lane; sisters, Lynette Rettig; Darla (Scott) Feehan and Joann (Robert) Feehan.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephew who knew him as “Unkie. He was especially close to his late sister, Diane (Donald) Rutter and their children, Robin; Marcia; Lee and Nicole.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald and his sister, Diane Rutter.
A celebration of David’s life will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 1-4 p.m. at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler. A service will be held at 3 p.m. Those attending are required to wear masks and respect the social distancing guidelines.
The family suggests memorials to Mercy Health Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
