Fernando “Ferd” Quiroga

Fernando “Ferd” Quiroga, 66, of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 in Lexington, South Carolina.
He was born May 2, 1954 in Lima, Ohio to Francisco and Lucia (Flores) Quiroga.
Ferd is survived by his mother, Lucia Quiroga; his wife, Rosenda; 6 children, Francisco Quiroga; Angelica Quiroga; Crystal (Juan) Torres; Jessica Quiroga; Uvicella Quiroga; Octavio Quiroga; 8 grandchildren, Mia; Audric; Valerie; Eicker; Luis; Julian; Yoslyn; Melanie; 2 sisters, Sylvia Quiroga; Mona Coppes; 5 brothers, Luis (Sandy) Quiroga; Dennis (Chris) Quiroga; Jesse (Sheri) Quiroga; Robbie (Tamara) Quiroga; Anthony (Rita) Quiroga; half-sister, Diana Valdez and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francisco Quiroga and a brother, Francisco Quiroga, Jr.
Ferd was a 1973 graduate of Patrick Henry High School where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams. He formerly worked for the City of Weslaco, Texas in the sanitation department and for D-K Enterprises Disposal, Bowling Green, Ohio.
He was raised in the Catholic Church and remained faithful. He loved to cheer on Michigan football and find time to attend any flea market, looking for the perfect find. His greatest enjoyment came from the time he spent with his grandchildren.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Fr. Art Niewiadomski officiating. Anyone attending will be required to wear a mask and social distancing guidelines will be observed at all times.
The family understands if you are unable to attend and in lieu of flowers suggests that you consider a donation to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or the Patrick Henry Football Alumni Association.
