Harold "Butch" Petersen
October 5, 1955 - November 20, 2022
Harold "Butch" Mathias Petersen, 67 of Hamler, Ohio passed away Sunday night, November 20, 2022 at the Henry County Hospital, Napoleon, Ohio.
He was born October 5, 1955 in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Harold and Ellen (Rosebrook) Petersen.
Butch was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler. He worked for over 35 years at Gilson Screen in Malinta, Ohio, retiring in 2019.
He enjoyed gardening vegetables and hosta plants. He was skilled in woodworking and made many beautiful household items. His family will always remember his hard work ethic and his constant need to have a project going. If not working, he had a great passion for baseball and the Detroit Tigers. He will be remembered and missed for his good sense of humor and his unconditional love for his family.
On December 31, 2000 he married Rhonda (Hoffer) Petersen in Hamler, Ohio and she survives. He is also survived by children, Miranda (James) Hoops; Melissa (Aaron) Carito; Jared Petersen; Tim (Deanna) Petersen; Justin Petersen (Zoey Messman); Christian Petersen; Cassandra (Matthew) Walbert; Tyler (Cheressa) Hamm; Nathan (Sarah) Hamm; daughter-in-law, Sarah Hoffer; 16 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild "On-the-Way"; brothers, Howard (Joyce) Petersen; Leon (Ginny) Petersen; sister, Marcelle (Leroy) Caplinger; and sister-in-law, Barbara Petersen.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Joshua Hoffer and brother, Kenneth Petersen.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Pastor Richard Betts officiating. Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. prior to the services in the funeral home.
