Obituary

JoAnn Abbott

   Ida JoAnn Abbott, 93, of Findlay, Ohio and formerly of Leipsic, Ohio passed away at Birchaven Village, Findlay, Ohio.
   She was born January 9, 1929 in Deshler, Ohio to the late Cloyce and Velma (Herman) Zernhel.
   JoAnn was a 1947 graduate of Deshler High School.  She worked for over 31 years at the former Deshler Products/Sherwin Williams factory.  She previously worked as an operator  for the former Deshler Crescent Telephone Company.  Alongside her late husband, they owned and operated John Deere Leipsic Farm Supply.  She was a member of the former St. Paul United EUB Church, Deshler and the Rebekah Lodge.   
   On April 3, 1948 she married Roy Abbott in Decatur, Indiana and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2013 after more than 64 years of marriage.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herman “Dan” Zernhel and John “Jiggs” Zernhel and sister, Betty Zeltner.
   She is survived by several nieces and nephews and special friend, Donna Neiling.
