John E. Fitzenreiter

   John E. Fitzenreiter, 94, of Deshler, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at his residence.
   He was born July 7, 1926 in Deshler to the late John and Sophie (Damman) Fitzenreiter.  On January 7, 1977 he married Dolores (Rozanski) Fitzenreiter and she preceded him in death on March 11, 1999.
   John served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.  He retired from working at the Sears stores in Fostoria and Findlay, Ohio.
   John was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Deshler.  In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, playing cards and polka dancing.
   He is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Field, Kalamazoo, Michigan; his nephew, Vic Gerken and his family of Deshler and niece, Rita (Louie) Mahlman and her family of Deshler.
   He was preceded in death by a brother, Eldor Fitzenreiter; stepmother, Minnie (Gerken) Fitzenreiter; step brothers, Alfred Gerken; Carl Gerken; and step sisters, Verna Sunderman and Esther Drewes.
   Services for John will be private and he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Dolores, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.  Graveside military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army and Deshler American Legion Post #316.
