He was born June 18, 1949 in Edinburg, Texas to the late Francisco and Hortencia (Zavala) Quintero. In 1988 he married Sharon (Anderson) Quintero and they were later divorced.
Marcos grew up in Deshler and attended Deshler High School. He worked for many years as a dry-waller and carpenter, managing and then owning his own business. He was passionate about blueberries and was an accomplished blueberry farmer and member of the Michigan Blueberry Growers Association.
He was a great mentor to many of his young nephews and cousins that spent time under his direction throughout the years. He will be remembered as the type of guy that once you were his friend, you had a friend forever and he would always be there for you. This was evidenced by having longtime friends such as Vicki Wyman, Kenny Altman, Wellborn, FL and Roger Capps, Tampa, FL and Port Huron, MI who spent time with Marc during his final weeks in the Suwannee Health and Rehabilitation Center in Live Oak, FL. His family was always important to him and he loved spending time with them.
He is survived by his daughter, Tonya (Dave) Bradford, Lima, Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher Wright; Landon Wright; Tierra (Devonte) Wright; great grandchildren, Braxton; Zaylin; Marlie; and Riley; sisters, Amelia (Rick) Williams; Risingsun, Ohio; Enedelia (Conrad) Valle, Taylor, MI; Mary (Jon) Zumbrunnen, Medina, OH; Thelma (James) Edwards, Travelers Rest, SC; Josefina (Gilbert) Davila, LaBlanca, TX. He has a large number of nephews and nieces too numerous to mention, as well as cousins and other family members who he loved dearly.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Martin Quintero, Francisco “Poncho” Quintero, Victor Quintero, and grandson, Tyler Lane.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler with Fr. Art Niewiadomski officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home.
