Paul E. Sheley
December 30, 1936 – August 22, 2022
Paul Eldon Sheley, 85, formerly of Deshler, Ohio passed away Monday evening, August 22, 2022 at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
He was born December 30, 1936 in Warren County, Ohio to the late Vernon and Edith (Vannatta) Sheley. On June 5, 1967 he married Rosemary (Overmyer) Sheley and they shared over 53 years together. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2020.
Paul retired from General Motors Central Foundry in Defiance, Ohio after 25 years of service. Paul was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Deshler Sycamore Lodge #520 for over 47 years. After retirement, he spent all his time helping with the grandchildren. He babysat, carpooled, and attended all their sporting events. His heart was full of love for his family. If you needed anything, he was always there, no questions asked. He especially loved his little rescue dog “Timmy” and took him everywhere he went.
He is survived by his daughter, Paula (Jeff) Jones, Hutto, Texas; step-son, Tracy Guelde (Michele Loveday), Deshler; grandchildren, Zackary Guelde, Tony, Alabama; Savanna (Eric) Telaak, Franklin, Tennessee; Dalton Guelde, Deshler; Kendall (Lucas) Holman, Westerville, Ohio; Grayson Anderson, Canal Winchester, Ohio; Britain Okuly, Hutto, Texas; great grandson, Liam Ash Telaak
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Logan Anderson; brothers, John Sheley; Pyrl Sheley; Carl Sheley; and sisters, Laura Marie Mack; Carol Bradbury; Jeanette Farquer and Lavern Marlatt.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Feehan-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler with Pastor Chris Walter officiating. Graveside services will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler and a fellowship luncheon will follow at the Deshler American Legion Post.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m., Sunday prior to the services at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Central Ohio.
