Theodore “Ted” Schooner

April 30, 1942 – April 15, 2022

Theodore “Ted” Schooner, 79, of Weston, Ohio passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 at The Glendale, Toledo, Ohio.

He was born April 30, 1942 in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Ervin and Helen (Piddock) Schooner.  On October 21, 1967 he married Janet (Sidle) Schooner at the Custar United Methodist Church and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2017.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1966 and was stationed in Germany for many of those years.

Ted was a brick mason for over 50 years, working for K & K Construction since its inception in 1973.  He enjoyed his job and most of the people he worked with.  He even continued to work after retirement occasionally as needed.

In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, mowing the lawn and fishing.  Ted was known for saying what he meant and meaning what he said.  He was quiet and reserved until he wasn’t.  He had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor.

Ted is survived by his son, Donald (Rebecca) Schooner; grandchildren, Justin Schooner; Jessica (Jared) Hyde; great granddaughter, Lilith Hyde; siblings, Shelby (Bob) Myerholtz; Pat Harrison; Sharon Weaver; Kathy Wise; Lon Schooner; Gary Schooner and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Schooner and brothers, Ervin, Ron and Larry Schooner.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 1-3 p.m. at Schooner Farms, 14890 Otsego Pike, Weston, Ohio.  Burial will be held at Milton Township Cemetery, Custar.

Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
